Hi, I’m Katy!

I’m a 30-year-old wife and proud mom of three boys. My journey into candle-making started in September 2020 when I was home 24/7 with my kids and desperately needed an outlet. I tried a few hobbies, but candle-making quickly became my favorite—it’s so meditative and fulfilling!

Shortly after I discovered my passion, life threw us a curveball: my husband was laid off from his job, and we were struggling to make ends meet. I decided to take a leap of faith and sell my candles. To my surprise, the business took off! What started as a small side hustle grew rapidly, with dozens of customers seeking my creations.

At one point, I even opened a storefront to keep up with the demand. However, as the economy shifted, I decided to close my shop and focus on online sales. Now, I balance working full-time, serving on the North Tonawanda School Board, and continuing my passion for creating all-natural, non-toxic products for my home and yours.

The Burning Candle is built on my mission to bring clean, safe scents into homes while giving back to the community. My soy wax candles are made with love and care, ensuring that your home smells like home. I’m so grateful for the support of my customers, who have allowed me to turn a personal passion into a thriving business that supports my family and fuels my creativity.
